Description
The City of Sterling Heights is seeking a committed and task-oriented Parks Maintenance Mechanic to join our Parks & Recreation team!
  • Pay starting at $29.8077/hr.
  • Pay increases every twelve (12) months and annually on July 1st!

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Superintendent, this employee is tasked with duties that maintain a safe and attractive park system. Employee may be required to assist the Park Superintendent in the performance of his duties. The Parks Maintenance Mechanic is authorized to assign duties to all part time park staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in a municipal parks and recreation setting with a minimum of 1 year of park maintenance and repair.
  • Working knowledge of landscaping, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry trades.
  • Valid unrestricted Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • MDARD Certified Pesticide Applicator or ability to acquire within 6 months.
