Typical Schedule: Evening shift (exact hours may vary): 3:00 PM- 11:00 PM

Community Summary

Indian Lake Estates (ILE) is a large, planned rural residential and commercial gated community with more than 7500 acres and 700 residences. The community includes fishing, boating, golfing and country club activities along with postal, church, dining, pier, and lake front facilities.

The Corporation employs a staff in the Office, Restaurant, Pro Shop, Golf course and Roads & Grounds maintenance.  Social events, Library, and cultural activities are voluntarily run and managed by Community volunteers.  These volunteers contribute to the enjoyment of life in our Community.  We have well-established Clubs and Groups and there is always room for new ones!

Volunteers also make up the Board of Directors and the various Committees that guide the professional staff and oversee the workings of the Corporation.  Everything from Finance Committee to Beautification is managed by committees who make recommendations to the Board in its policy-making role.  Board Members and community members work together in these committees which meet at least once a month.

We are located approximately 15 miles east of Frostproof, FL and 17 miles south-east of Lake Wales, FL, at the intersection of SR 60 and CR 630, close to the southeastern tip of Polk County. The Cape Kennedy Spaceport is 55 miles to our east. Orlando, with its internationally renowned family focused Disney World, is 45 miles to our north-east. The crystal white beaches of Florida’s gulf coast and Tampa Bay are an hour drive due west. Role Summary

The Onsite Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a fast-paced kitchen while ensuring that food meets quality standards and customer preferences. Attention to detail, food safety, and consistency are essential to success in this role. The cook also supports overall kitchen workflow by handling additional tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.


Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various utensils or grillers
  • Ensure all orders are prepared as per customer request
  • Keep a sanitized, safe, and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
  • Plus other work-related tasks as needed

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
  • Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors).
  • Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.
