Location Site: West Valley Hospital, 525 SE Washington Street, Dallas, Oregon 97338
Department: Emergency Department
Position Type: Part Time, 24 hours/week, Non-Exempt
Schedule: 12:00 pm - 12:00 am, two 12-hour shifts, variable scheduled days
Your role with us
As a clinical tech in the emergency department at West Valley Hospital, part of the Salem Health system, you'll be an essential member of a dedicated care team serving the Dallas, Oregon community. West Valley Hospital offers a more intimate, community-centered environment where every team member's contribution has a visible impact on patient care.
In this fast-paced and dynamic setting, you'll work under the direction of registered nurses and providers to deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients with a wide range of urgent and emergent needs. Your adaptability, clear communication, and calm presence under pressure will help ensure the department runs smoothly and safely.
Whether monitoring vital signs, assisting with procedures, or supporting patients and families during stressful moments, your work at West Valley Hospital will make a direct difference in patient safety, comfort, and recovery.
What you'll do
  • Perform basic patient care duties such as vital signs, cardiac monitoring, electrocardiogram (EKGs), phlebotomy, bladder scans, splinting, wound care, and point-of-care testing.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and care tasks delegated by RNs and providers.
  • Document patient data accurately using written, verbal, and electronic methods according to policy.
  • Support the flow of care by transporting patients safely and efficiently throughout the department.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized care environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Collaborate with the RN to implement care plans, monitor patient conditions, and report changes.
  • Reinforce patient education regarding activities of daily living and support family involvement in care.
  • Participate in unit activities such as staff meetings and shared decision-making processes.
  • Fulfill required standby hours as scheduled to meet the needs of the emergency department.

Required qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Requires ONE of the following to be considered for hire:
    • CNA license
    • Medical assistant certification
    • EMT B certification
    • Enrolled in an accredited nursing school
    • Previous experience as an ED Tech or in a comparable role (i.e. MA, UAP).
