Hybrid Cloud Systems Engineer
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Hybrid Cloud Systems Engineer to support the planning, development, and execution of efforts to migrate on-premises Windows Server-based applications to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will use their expertise in Azure infrastructure and services, as well as strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and cloud migration strategies.
In this role, you will join a multidisciplinary team of systems and network engineers supporting the U.S. Navy's digital transformation efforts. Your mission will be to modernize and optimize legacy server platforms through strategic divestment or migration to the cloud.
What You'll Work On:
  • Develop technical and engineering plans to support the migration of on-premises Windows Server-based applications to the Azure cloud.
  • Assess existing infrastructure, identify migration blockers, and recommend modern cloud-native alternatives where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and developers to re-platform, re-host, or refactor applications for Azure environments.
  • Implement and manage Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Files, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, and Azure Monitor.
  • Perform system design and integration activities, including identity management, storage, compute, networking, and security configurations.
  • Provide technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, migration runbooks, and operational procedures.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise IT environments
  • 3+ years of experience managing enterprise Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, MCM, WSUS, or Azure
  • 1+ years of experience designing and implementing Azure-based solutions
  • Experience with virtualized Windows Server environments, including VMware or Hyper-V, and developing comprehensive IT infrastructure automation using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, or automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and matrixed teams
  • Ability to automate the installation and operation of Windows Server-based applications and solutions
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP Certification within 30 days of hire date
  • Azure Certification such as AZ-104 or AZ-900

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
