Job description

Material Handler / Marketing Inventory Specialist

Department: Receiving and Put Away / Marketing Support
Reports To: Supervisor / Manager, Receiving

Position Summary

The Material Handler / Marketing Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, and accurately maintaining inventory while supporting a large-scale marketing project involving the photography and cataloging of more than 10,000 parts. This position utilizes barcode scanners, cameras, Excel spreadsheets, and ERP systems to receive inventory, store materials in designated locations, photograph products, and maintain accurate inventory records and digital assets.

The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage large volumes of inventory and photographic data. Additional duties may be assigned by the Team Lead, Supervisor, Manager, or Marketing team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibility% of Time

Photograph, catalog, and organize images for 10,000+ parts as part of a Marketing product content project.30%

Support shipping operations by providing packaging materials and preparing machine shipments.20%

Transfer finished products to storage and/or shipping locations; load and unload containers and trucks.15%

Receive, scan, and put away inventory using barcode scanners and ERP systems.15%

Communicate with employees, supervisors, management, and Marketing personnel to fulfill warehouse and product documentation requests.10%

Process shipping paperwork, maintain inventory records, and update Excel spreadsheets and related documentation.10%

Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • One to three months of related warehouse, inventory, photography, or data-entry experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and maintaining inventory records.
  • Experience using digital cameras, photography equipment, or product photography processes preferred.
  • Ability to manage and organize large volumes of image files and product information.
  • Experience using barcode scanners and ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required.
  • Prior forklift experience preferred; must successfully complete company forklift certification/re-certification requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be certified or able to obtain HAZMAT certification.
  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance.
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to manage image files, spreadsheets, and electronic inventory records.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and barcode scanning equipment preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Forklift certification/license required or ability to obtain certification.
Screening Requirements
  • Successful completion of a standard drug screening and physical examination.

Note: This position includes significant support for a Marketing initiative to photograph, identify, and catalog more than 10,000 inventory parts. Candidates should be comfortable handling products, taking clear and consistent photographs, maintaining accurate records, and working with large data sets in Excel and related systems.
