Job description

DESCRIPTION
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the night shift. This role combines customer service, accounting, and administrative tasks to ensure accurate reporting of daily financial transactions and a seamless guest experience overnight.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Check guests in and out of the hotel efficiently and courteously, addressing any inquiries or issues.
  • Perform nightly audits of financial transactions and reports, ensuring accurate accounting of guest charges and payments.
  • Reconcile daily revenue and prepare financial reports for management, including balance sheets and profit-and-loss analysis.
  • Ensure that all guest accounts are up-to-date and accurate, addressing discrepancies as needed.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions securely, following company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor security systems and respond to emergencies or incidents during the night.
  • Provide assistance to guests, including wake-up calls and other services as requested.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring all materials and supplies are readily available.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or accounting is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a front desk or accounting role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel management systems and accounting software.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle unexpected situations calmly.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
