Join Our Team as an IT Analyst/Programmer II!
The Winston-Salem State University Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a skilled and motivated IT professional to design, implement, and support innovative technology solutions that power our academic and administrative systems. In this role, you'll work closely with campus partners to analyze needs, develop applications, and manage key platforms such as Canvas, Panopto, and other enterprise tools that directly impact teaching, learning, and student success.
As a key member of our OIT team, you'll lead and support projects, enhance system performance, and provide advanced technical support while ensuring applications remain secure, reliable, and user-focused. Responsibilities of the IT Analyst/Programmer II:
  • Design, develop, implement, and support applications aligned with university needs
  • Administer and maintain enterprise systems, including:
    • TeamDynamix (CRM)
    • Learning Management Systems (Canvas LMS)
    • Adobe Creative Cloud
    • Academic tools such as Panopto, Respondus, and Turnitin
  • Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring to ensure optimal performance
  • Develop integrations, workflows, and enhancements to existing systems
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across applications
  • Analyze business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Develop test plans, scenarios, and documentation to ensure quality and performance
  • Evaluate and improve application functionality and system performance
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative improvements
  • Lead or contribute to IT projects by coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Translate technical concepts into clear language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Gather and document requirements; develop functional specifications
  • Support change management and software deployment efforts
  • Assist with user training and knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to IT strategy and long-term planning initiatives
  • Evaluate solutions and recommend improvements aligned with university goals
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness through technology
