Job description

Position Description About Seattle Center - The Cultural Heart of the Pacific Northwest Seattle Center is a 74-acre civic, arts, and cultural gathering place in the heart of Seattle and is home to more than 30 partner organizations, including Climate Pledge Arena, KEXP, Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP), Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Opera, Pacific Science Center, SIFF, and many others. Anchored by world-class attractions, historic venues, public art, and a dynamic calendar of free and affordable events centered around the iconic International Fountain, Seattle Center brings together arts, culture, sports, and community year-round. As a department of the City of Seattle and anchor of the Uptown Arts and Cultural District, Seattle Center serves residents from across the Puget Sound region alongside visitors from around the world.

About this position: We are seeking qualified intermittent Parking Attendants. Work opportunities are directly related to Seattle Center event schedules so hours of work will vary. Intermittent shifts are available on days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Job Responsibilities Here is more of what you will be doing: Provide information about parking, events, and facilities Sell parking and make change accurately and quickly Prepare and submit bank deposit paperwork Greet patrons in a friendly and welcoming manner Enforce facility rules and regulations Prepare facility for daily operation by setting appropriate signage Check facility for vandalism and pick up trash Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Requires a minimum of six (6) months of customer service experience (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class). You will be successful in this role if you have: Experience working in a public parking facility is a plus. The ability to make change quickly and accurately.

Personal owned and insured vehicle for use during work. A current Washington Driver's License and an excellent driving record. Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including holidays, days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Proven experience serving a diverse customer base. Friendly, respectful, and courteous communication skills. Availability to work 180 hours annually, 45 hours in each calendar quarter (per union contract).

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Must be willing and able to lift and/or move loads of up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk or bend for extended periods of time. Willing to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all kinds of weather conditions.

Work around cars amidst exhaust fumes and in traffic. Employees must be available during each of the days during these busy events: Bumbershoot; Folklife; Bite of Seattle; and all holidays, including New Year's Eve. Additional Information This is an intermittent/on-call position with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.

Hours are based on event schedules at Seattle Center. The full salary range for this position is $26.92 - $31.49 per hour. Temporary employees begin at step 1, which is $26.92 hourly

Intermittent employees do not get salary step increases. You'll also get premium pay that increases the more hours you work. (Starts at an additional 5% on top of your base rate, up to 25%!) Applications will be accepted for this position until 4:00 pm Pacific Time on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Pre-Employment Physical - Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical.
