Job description

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking 2 passionate Registered Nurses to join our team as a Substitute School Nurses in Union County!


Notes: Previous pediatric / school nursing experience NOT required!


ASSIGNMENT 1:

Location: Plainfield, NJ

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Hours: 7:45a-3:45p.

Duration: August 24 2026-June 2027


ASSIGNMENT 2:

Location: Scotch Plains, NJ

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Hours: 8:20a-3:20pm

Duration: September 2nd 2026-December 23rd 2026

Your Role:

· Direct Nursing Care – Provide care to students and staff who visit the health office for minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.

· Health Assessments & Screenings – Conduct assessments and screenings to identify health issues, providing appropriate interventions or referrals as necessary.

· Record Maintenance – Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication logs.

· Collaboration – Work with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement health policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.

· Health Education – Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics like nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.


Ideal Candidate:

· Passionate about Pediatric Care – If you’re dedicated to supporting children’s health and well-being, this is the perfect role for you.

· Experience – At least one year of professional nursing experience.

· Certification – An active NJ Nursing License and CPR certification.

· Fingerprinting – Willingness to complete the NJ Department of Education Fingerprinting process (We’ll reimburse you!)

· Substitute School Nurse Certificate – Willingness to apply for the NJ Substitute School Nurse Certificate (We’ll reimburse you!)
