DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of a Senior Supervisor CLS, perform a wide variety of technical procedures in a section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Other responsibilities include method development, modification, parallel testing, collaboration on or preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, data entry, and phlebotomy duties. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.
Daily, assess overall workload for any area that needs help and help coworkers without being reassigned by the supervisor. Work is assigned daily and reviewed by supervisory personnel or designee. All Clinical Laboratory Scientists may process specimens, perform waived and non-waived testing without direct and constant supervision, and report results without supervisor or director review for the tests that are within their scope of licensure and for which they have been trained and deemed competent.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health.
• Graduation from college with a major in a relevant field.
• Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with SoftLab LIS and Epic.
• Experience with the following automated instrumentation Sysmex XN, Iris IChemIQ, TEG, and Roche Cobas.
• Generalist skills - Hematology/Chemistry.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $162,822 - $162,822 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $77.98 - $77.98
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
