Description
Broadwind Industrial Solutions is adding an Inside Sales & Quotation Specialist to our team in Sanford, NC. We will consider adding a new grad that is trainable! This is a great opportunity to learn sales operations in a manufacturing environment! This position will assist with the quotation process, collaborate across teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates, maintain organized records, and support continuous improvement of tools and processes. The Inside Sales & Quotation Specialist ensures compliance with quality standards, provides technical guidance, safeguards intellectual property, and delivers sales intelligence to enhance competitiveness and project success.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Estimating & Quoting Process
  • Lead and support the estimating and quoting process in response to customer requests/RFQs, including gathering project details, examining drawings/BOMs/specifications, and interpreting customer inquiries/contracts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates and acknowledgments, ensuring compliance with ISO and Quality System standards.
  • Maintain organized records of quotations, costing workups, and related documentation.

Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with business development, sales managers, engineers, production, supply teams, outside vendors, and purchasing to ensure estimates reflect both BIS capabilities and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with outside sales for communication with strategically managed accounts.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers/assigned salespersons and BIS throughout the quotation process.

Process Improvement & Tools
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating tools to enhance quote accuracy and reduce turnaround time.
  • Input and manage data in ERP and Salesforce.com systems for new quotation requests, purchase order entry, and acknowledgments.

Project & Timeline Management
  • Prioritize and manage quotation projects to meet customer timelines, including defining and communicating required lead-times with production and supply teams.
  • Ensure all raw materials and tooling are budgeted and communicated to manufacturing.

Technical Leadership & Customer Service
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation and presentation of technical proposals to customers.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to internal staff and customers, ensuring full understanding of BIS solutions and removing barriers to satisfaction.
  • Respond to technical queries from customers and internal staff in a timely manner.

Quality, Compliance & Intellectual Property
  • Ensure all quotations and estimates comply with ISO and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and protect customer and company intellectual property.
  • Coordinate with Quality for submission and processing of deviations to customers.

Sales Intelligence & Competitiveness
  • Provide sales intelligence to support understanding of costs, profitability, and likelihood of project success.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of company products/services, business position, and competition.

Additional Responsibilities (with Training)
  • Establish and document preliminary BOMs, manufacturing costs, routers, and item masters; enter into ERP system as needed.

Requirements
Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Technical or industry-specific training (such as electrical, mechanical, or industrial products) is preferred.
  • Experience in inside sales, quotations, or customer support within a technical product environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using ERP software is preferred.

Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
  • Proven record of meeting sales or quotation targets and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Effective communication skills with customers via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Ability to manage and respond to high customer demands while working closely with various departments of the business.
