Member Relations SpecialistSummary of Responsibilities

We are seeking a collaborative and service-oriented Member Relations Specialist who is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for all members, potential members, and colleagues. This role is responsible for originating, processing, funding, and maintaining loans while supporting branch operations and contributing to a positive team environment.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. This position also supports team coordination, problem-solving, and continuous improvement within the branch.

Key ResponsibilitiesMember Service & Financial Guidance
  • Provide clear, respectful, and inclusive guidance to members and employees on loan options, as well as credit union products and services.
  • Support members in making informed financial decisions while strengthening and retaining relationships.
  • Process loan applications from initiation through closing, including performing HYLS reviews and utilizing NADA resources.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of loan lifecycles from origination through payoff.
Branch Operations
  • Support opening and closing procedures for the branch.
  • Perform end-of-day balancing and month-end tasks, including account verification and reporting.
  • Ensure member documentation is accurately verified, recorded, and maintained in system records.
  • Contribute to maintaining a secure, organized, and increasingly paperless work environment.
  • Monitor branch systems and report any operational or equipment issues promptly.
Team Collaboration & Leadership Support
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
  • Partner with leadership and colleagues, including Lead Tellers and the Member Relations Manager, to support staffing needs and ensure consistent member service.
  • Assist in coordinating staff meetings to share updates, process improvements, and new services.
  • Help identify and resolve operational challenges in a collaborative manner.
  • Encourage open communication and idea-sharing across the team.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Maintain daily security procedures and ensure all systems are functioning properly.
  • Support audits and compliance activities, including cash audits and reporting requirements.
  • Handle sensitive accounts, such as IRAs and deceased accounts, with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance member experience, and support team efficiency.
  • Share creative ideas and feedback to help strengthen the organization.
