Job Title: Litigation Assistant Administrative
Type of Position: Full time
Location: 4 days in person, 1 day remote
Pay: $21- 32/hr
Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Track Statute of Limitation deadlines
  • Collaborate with the assigned team during weekly and monthly team meetings and case audits/reviews.
  • Maintain and update firm database using firm software.
  • Process incoming mails, faxes, and email attachments.
  • Ensure that firm protocol and procedures are followed when organizing and saving documents to the client file.
  • Track due dates, appearances and deadlines including, but not limited to: statutes of limitations, response deadlines, court hearings, etc.
  • Coordinate and correspond with opposing counsel regarding depositions, hearings, etc.
  • Schedule and calendar remote appearances and motion hearings for attorneys.
  • Maintain team calendar.
  • Navigate California Superior Court websites and dockets to obtain relevant information.
  • Conduct background research and investigation for active litigation cases.
  • Draft various legal documents and judicial council forms, including but not limited to: summons, complaints, ancillary documents, notices, and declarations for filing with the court.
  • Send requests to legal services company as needed (filings, courier requests, etc.).
  • Track service of process for all Defendants in active litigation cases.
  • Maintain and update master proofs of service.
  • Propound and respond to discovery and supplemental discovery requests.
  • Correspond with and contact clients as needed with updates.
  • Handle client relations and coordinate deposition and discovery completion with clients.
  • Obtain client signatures on various documents via Docusign, email and/or mail.
  • Process Plaintiff deposition transcripts.
  • Provide case status updates to medical providers as needed.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 years of civil litigation experience
  • Very well organized
  • Good and consistent follow up skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle large volume of cases and multiple cases at a time
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Paralegal Certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software
  • Prior experience with Google Suite is a plus
