About the Job
 

Job Description
Give presentations (5 to 50 minutes) to student groups, Greek houses, residence halls, and classes to promote study abroad and address common student concerns (60%)
Attend UMN fairs and events to represent study abroad by tabling or presenting (20%)
Coordinate and execute large Learning Abroad Center brochure mailings to national institutions and UMN departments (10%)
Complete basic data entry and assist with office projects (5%)
Provide research support for program development (5%)
 

Qualifications
 

Position Qualifications:
-Study abroad experience
-Strong public speaking skills
-Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
-High level of professionalism
-Comfortable working independently on projects
-Well-developed time management skills
-Willing to travel across campus for events
-Efficient in Microsoft Office and Google Calendar 
-Ability to work evenings and some weekends

About the Department
 

The Learning Abroad Center is the University of Minnesota's comprehensive resource for study, intern, community engagement, and research experiences worldwide.

The Learning Abroad Center offers a full range of advising and support services to students, including program selection, academic planning, financial planning, registration, credit, cultural adjustment, and reentry. A variety of program options180 programs in over 50 countrieshave been developed to address the diverse needs of students. Programs vary in length, level, academic focus, teaching format, language requirements, cost, and degree of independence demanded of the participant.

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $15.25 an hour

Student workers are eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan, if they maintain 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester. The same applies for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Assistants, Residents, Fellows and Interns.
