Job description

Position Summary:
Provide transportation for clients to program services, medical appointments, meetings, recreational activities. Relocation of the mobile services units (campers) to community outreach and maintenance. Provides support to program services, responsible for vehicle maintenance and related paperwork.
Essential Job Functions:
• Provide transportation for clients to attend outpatient scheduling as scheduled. It includes appointments of doctors, recreational activities, to attend recovery support meetings, etc.
• Provide movement of community outreach rolling units (Campers) when necessary.
• Participates with the clinical team in community outreach and ensures the correct operation of the mobile service units, if applicable.
• Prepare the weekly transportation schedule and work plans with the Program Coordinator
• Complete daily vehicle maintenance inspections.
• Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle, making sure that it is working properly; reporting any eventuality to the Department of Vehicles.
• Responsible for maintaining reports on maintenance and vehicle mileage.
• Assist with client interventions and redirect transported clients when behavior is inappropriate.
• Communicate with clinical staff on a daily basis regarding client behavior while being transported.
• Provide input at team meetings when needed.
• Communicate directly with the Program Coordinator or Designated Person, regarding major rule violations by the client, including acts of violence and drug use.
• Helps with program security.
• It is ensured that the transported participants do not possess drugs, illegal items, etc.
• Other assigned functions.
Education:
• Minimum of High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Category 9 Valid Driver's License
• Certification from the Public Services Commission
• Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to understand and address the needs of participants with recurrent disorders. Conflict management skills.
Experience and Competencies:
Working Conditions:
• Work is primarily performed outdoor and at time in office environments.
Physical Demands:
• Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility, to work in the office environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces) to interact with co-workers in the office environment, sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds. Constant use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files). Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Requires talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is required to impart oral information to employees, clients, patients, and the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication.
• Requires seeing: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less as well as vision adequate for driving a motor vehicle. This factor is required to complete paperwork for many of the employee's essential job functions and when driving a motor vehicle.
• The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues. Job duties do not include performing or assisting in emergency medical care or first aid.
Mental Demands:
• Requires the ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions.
• Requires the ability to work and cooperate with clients, co-workers, managers, the public and employees at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions and opinions.
• Requires the ability to work under time deadlines.
