Position Description:

We CGI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Engineer (React, Python, FAST API) for an enterprise AI-powered metadata management platform. This is a hands-on development role requiring someone who can actively build and deliver features across the full stack. The candidate will contribute to scalable solutions, write clean production-ready code, and collaborate effectively with product, data, and AI teams.

Design and operate scalable backend systems with asynchronous processing, strong data integrity, observability, performance optimization, and safe deployment practices in production environments.

This position can be performed from any Client site: Bloomfield, CT, Raleigh, NC, Dallas, TX, Austin, TX, or Lafayette, LA in a Hybrid working Model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Provides professional expertise on Application Development assignments and projects within the MetagenAI platform. Contributes to the design and development of moderately complex systems and subsystems, utilizing a solid understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Collaborates with business unit and IT teams across all phases of application programming and development processes across diverse platforms and computing environments (e.g., distributed systems, client-server, cloud-based technologies, and tools).

. Works closely with product and IT teams to identify and implement application development solutions, including new or modified programs, reuse of existing code, integration of purchased solutions, or a combination of available alternatives. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends efficient and cost-effective approaches to application development challenges.

. Codes new or modified programs, reuses existing code through program development best practices, and integrates third-party or purchased solutions as needed. Documents, tests, deploys, and provides ongoing support for applications and features.

. Leverages strong technical knowledge in full stack development to contribute meaningfully to team discussions and delivery. Works across frontend, backend, database, and cloud layers as part of a collaborative development team. Actively participates in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure code quality and consistency

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

At least 8+ years of overall software development experience required and must have skills:

Design and operate scalable backend systems with asynchronous processing, strong data integrity, observability, performance optimization, and safe deployment practices in production environments.

Hands-On Development: Implement features across frontend (React) and backend (Python/FastAPI)

Backend (Core)

  • Python - FastAPI / Django / Flask

  • RESTful APIs - Design and implementation

  • SQLAlchemy ORM

  • Async programming (async/await)

Frontend (Core)

  • React - Modern React with hooks

  • JavaScript / TypeScript

  • State management (Redux / Context API)

  • Material-UI or similar component libraries

Database

  • PostgreSQL - Production experience, query optimization

  • SQL - Complex queries, indexing, schema design

Cloud & DevOps

  • AWS - Hands-on with multiple services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, EKS)

  • Docker - Containerization

  • Kubernetes / EKS - Container orchestration

  • CI/CD - Jenkins / GitLab / GitHub Actions

Architecture

  • Microservices - Experience working in distributed systems

  • System design - Scalability, performance, reliability

  • API patterns - REST best practices

Data Engineering

  • AWS Glue or Apache Spark

  • ETL / ELT pipelines

  • Data profiling and quality assessment

Good to Have:

AI / ML Integration

  • LangChain or LLM orchestration frameworks

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $80,600 - $211,600.00.
