Primary Function:

The production assistant is responsible for supporting production by handling routine tasks and laboratory logistics, clean-up, and planning. The ideal person will have some understanding in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biology, attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Description:

  • Assist lab staff with daily tasks, including but not limited to filling vials and bottles, packing boxes, and inventory management.
  • Assist with kits assembling and pick/pack tasks as required.
  • Prepare and clean up equipment used in experiments, tests, and production.
  • Help in the setup and breakdown of experiments and demonstrations as needed.
  • Complete quality control and quality assurance processes to insure the reliability of lab results (temperature monitoring, weigh check and so on).
  • Follow established protocols, safety standards to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Stay attuned to advancements in lab techniques and technology.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and hazardous events.
  • Monitor and report any issues or malfunctions with equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Cross-train across related functions to ensure operational flexibility and team coverage.
  • Maintain a foundational understanding of this position and other similar roles to provide support during staff absences, peak demand, or special projects.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, including any additional responsibilities necessary to support the success of the department and organization.

Work Environment:

  • Works almost exclusively in a Production environment, including:
  • Walk in Refrigerator
  • Walk in Freezer
  • Use of tow motor
  • Ability to routinely lift and/or move boxes is required, some up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Working with closed chemical containers
  • Bending, standing, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head, possibly for extended periods of time up to entire work shift.
  • Frequent walking in the department and throughout the entire facility.
  • Ascending and descending ladders to retrieve or put away material safely and without limitation.
  • PPE as required.
