POSITION PURPOSE:

TheShipping Coordinatoris responsible forcoordinating andadministratingoutbound shipments ofproducttocustomers.This position must ensureorders are processed percompanyprocedures as well ascustomershipment requirements.The coordinator must work closely withtheShipping and Receiving Support Agent, Logistics Coordinator,Salesand production personnel.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5Sand existing manufacturing processes.

  • Provide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvementsin regards toproductivity and procedural changes.

  • Know and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.

  • Embrace thecross trainingculture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.

  • Do daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.

  • Flexibleschedule isrequiredin regards toovertime and start time according to work volumes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery ofproduct.

  • Maintainallshipping records, keepfiles and papers organized.

  • Ensure shipping weights and traceability informationiscorrect and recorded.

  • Coordinate outside processing deliveries for pick-up anddrop-offwith vendors.

  • Serve as a liaison betweensalesdepartment and production Team Leads.

  • Recommend measures to improve shipping methods and procedures.

  • Confirmshipment information by answering and relaying telephoneand e-mail inquiries.

  • Take pictures of all shipments (Will-Call, LTL, DCI, and FT).

  • Examine contents andcompare withrecords such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming and outbound shipment.

  • Shipping product and supplies inventory.

  • Ship/Invoice orders once they are shipped to the customer.

  • Close orders systematically and create the Bill of Lading (BOL) if necessary.

  • Confer and correspond with customer representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance tospecificationsas RMA's or Rework Request Slips.

  • Ensure all doors and frames are being removed on time from the production line to prevent the line from stopping.

  • Log in allproductreceived andputaway in correct areas.

  • Assistin enforcingcompanyrequired PPE.

  • Assistin improving or creating new standard operating procedures.

  • Acknowledge and service customers upon arrival and ensure up to date information on their product.

  • Updatereportsas necessary.

  • Mayassistinunloading trucks and/oroperatinga forklift.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Goodwrittenand oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Abilityto prioritizeand follow up on tasks.

  • Moderate level of confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel,Wordand Outlook.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Intermediate math and analytical skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional lifting, up to 30 pounds.

  • Must be able to walk, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel,stoopand crouch repeatedly.

  • Dexterous withboth hands.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

WorkEnvironment:

  • Fast paced custom metal manufacturing environment.

  • High noise levels.

  • Mild exposure to airborne particles and dust.

  • Contact with metals and paints.

  • Exposure to moving objects such as machinery, mechanical parts, forklifts,cartsand trucks.

  • Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma orGED.

  • 2+years ofshipping experience in a clerk or coordinator role.

  • Experience in a high volume fast paced environment.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
