As a Quality Technician (CQMS) at Caterpillar, you will play a key role in driving quality excellence across the BAWA facility. In this role, you will support continuous improvement initiatives, audit processes, and problem-solving efforts that directly impact product quality and operational performance. This position is under limited supervision and typically reports to a supervisor.
Job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain procedures and standard work (SOPs/SWIs) aligned to CQMS
  • Conduct quality audits (CQMS, Planned Method Audits, Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV), etc.)
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective actions (ICA/PCA)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to coordinate audits, improvements, and issue resolution
  • Develop and manage quality checks (PDI, IQA, and others)
  • Document, track, and report quality issues and audit findings
  • Support Continuous Improvement and CPS/5S initiatives
  • Provide floor-level quality support and collaboration with technicians, auditors, and operations
  • Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, assist with achieving 5S goals.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality-related role
  • Experience developing procedures and standard work (SOPs/SWIs)
  • Proficiency with inspection equipment and measurement gauges
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Additional information:
Shift: 1st shift hourly position
Shift Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM; Overtime on Fridays as needed.
