THE POSITION

Keyera is currently seeking a Control Room & Plant Operator (Entry Level) for our Superior, Wisconsin facility. This role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Superior propane fractionation facility, including process equipment, HMI systems, truck loading operations, and incoming and outgoing pipeline systems supporting both the Superior Wisconsin and Rapid River Michigan facilities.

Whether you are an experienced operator or looking to further develop your career in plant operations, this position offers the opportunity to build your skills while working alongside an experienced operations team in a dynamic processing environment.

This position follows a 12-hour rotating 7-on/7-off schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and participation in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the propane fractionation facility, refrigeration system including processing equipment, HMI systems, propane and NGL storage, truck loading equipment, incoming and outgoing pipeline systems supporting the Superior and Rapid River facilities.

  • Monitor plant performance through routine facility inspections, operating rounds, and quality control testing to ensure products meet specification prior to receipt and shipment while identifying and communicating operating concerns.

  • Prepare equipment for maintenance and safely return equipment to service following approved Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Safe Work Permit, Hot Work Permit, Confined Space Entry, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and environmental procedures.

  • Perform routine troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance of pumps, valves, meters, gauges, transmitters, flow computers, and other process equipment, including monthly meter calibrations.

  • Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, environmental, and regulatory documentation, including operating records, plant logs, meter calibrations, permits, environmental reporting, flaring reports, and other required compliance documentation.

  • Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, including HAZOP reviews, internal audits, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Support plant turnarounds, maintenance activities, project planning, work scope development, operating procedures, and site-specific work plans.

  • Coordinate truck driver orientations, contractor training, and site safety training while promoting compliance with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

  • Respond to ONE Call notifications, report operational, environmental, safety, and equipment non-conformances, and support incident investigations and corrective actions.

  • Respond to callouts if available.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in gas processing, propane fractionation, NGL facilities, terminal operations, pipeline operations, or a related industrial environment is an asset.

  • Familiarity with P&IDs, piping schematics, process drawings, and other technical documentation is an asset.

  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, or equipment calibration experience is an asset.

  • Strong technical aptitude and interest in building a career in plant operations.

  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating 7-on/7-off schedule, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

  • The successful candidate must reside within 30 miles of the Superior, Wisconsin facility

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to provide a satisfactory driving record.
