Job description

RSi is looking to hire an Aircraft Mechanic Level III - Assistant Production Control Manager (SCA LCAT 23023) to support our Army customer at Ft. Benning, GA on the UH60 Maintenance and Logistics Program supporting the US Army Ranger School. The Assistant Production Control Manager supports the PC Manager with oversight and execution of aircraft and ground support equipment maintenance, repair, and modification activities, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual, and safety requirements, in addition to performing as a Level III Aircraft Mechanic. This role provides technical expertise, documentation, and operational support to maintain fleet readiness and support maintenance personnel.

Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain repairs and modify aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Utilizes and comprehends technical manual instructions to perform complex aircraft maintenance tasks and maintenance projects, and explain steps to junior mechanics and identify possible errors in the manual to Quality Control (QC) team.
  • Consistently and clearly documents maintenance performed in accordance with applicable technical manuals.
  • Works with Technical Inspectors to clearly document complex maintenance actions. Reviews maintenance documentation performed by lower level mechanics before Technical Inspector support/review.
  • Reviews task(s) documentation and ensures that all applicable tools, work packets, instructions, hazmat items etc. needed to perform each task are gathered.
  • Read/write/verbalize tasks performed, questions, comments, concerns and request assistance when needed, is responsible for identifying when to escalate a concern or ask for assistance. Clearly articulate steps and provide clarifications in processes to lower-level mechanics. Communicates when corrections need to be made by other mechanics (either to the other mechanic or to the supervisor for documentation purposes).
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Assist with managing concurrently aircraft and ground support equipment maintenance, modifications, and coordinating with engineering personnel, COR and ACLC.
  • Publish flight schedule IAW PWS in the absence of the PC Manager.
  • Support the creation and briefing of maintenance plans (both weekly and daily) at daily PC Meetings.
  • Coach, train and mentor Mech III leads and Mech II mechanics.
  • There is an expectation to be available for after duty hours for oversite of USG requested flight operations.
  • Assist with planning, executing, and monitoring fleet maintenance activities to meet contractual requirements for cost, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide briefings, attend meetings, and prepare required reports and documentation.
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including non-routine discrepancies, repair plans, estimates, and required parts.
  • Support daily maintenance operations in accordance with technical data, directives, and established procedures.
  • Support maintenance activities as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to personnel on aircraft systems, assembly, operation, repair, and modifications
  • Interpret technical publications and maintain accurate maintenance records and logs in compliance with regulatory and system requirements

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • 3 years experience
  • Possess a valid FAA A&P Certificate
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, schematics, and engineering data
  • Experience performing inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with regulatory and technical requirements
  • Proficiency with maintenance documentation and tracking systems
  • Have an understanding of the Army Supply System
  • Have a strong understanding of GCSS-A and ACN
  • Have a strong UH-60 experience and understanding of troubleshooting maintenance issues

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

  • 5 years of aviation maintenance experience; 3 of which should be commensurate with position level
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in maintenance environments
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and test equipment
  • Technical writing or maintenance documentation development experience

Work Environment:

  • Indoor office setting, outdoor environments, aircraft areas, maintenance shops, back shops, and other industrial settings

Physical Environment/Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving aircraft and equipment
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds on an occasional basis
