Job description

VDI Engineer Duties ¿ Handle Level 2 and Level 3 issues/escalations within the VDI Infrastructure. ¿ Administration of various components in VDI Infrastructure. ¿ Build, configure, deploy and manage Virtual machines using Vmware Vsphere, Citrix XenServer.

¿ Monitor Virtual Desktops and hosted Applications using Lakeside Systrack and Citrix Director ¿ Creating Machine Catalogs, Delivery Groups, publish applications using Citrix Desktop Studio. ¿ Work with various teams in case of Hardware/Network/Other Failures which affects VDI Infra. ¿ Follow corporate incident management, change management and problem management.

¿ Provide RCA for any outages or incident trends and recommends preventative actions. ¿ Work with the image management team to provide VDI Expertise around image management. ¿ Co ordinate with Developer and Engineering application team for monthly image releases.

¿ Handle access/allocation capacity requests for VDI access. ¿ Participate in other Global Client Virtualization projects as assigned. ¿ Work with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during outages or technical issues.

¿ Provide/Maintain documentation of VDI environment and Projects. ¿ Participates in on call support rotation Skills & Experience ¿ 2 years in IT with the following areas of knowledge. ¿ Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, Citrix PVS, Citrix StoreFront, and Citrix NetScaler/ADC ¿ Citrix XenServer and VMware ESX.

¿ Citrix MCS, HDX, HDX 3DX Pro, MS RDS, NVIDIA vGPU, Citrix Director and Citrix Receiver. ¿ Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2012, Windows 2016. ¿ Linux Experience ¿ Ubuntu and RedHat ¿ Application Virtualization/Application Layering.

¿ Citrix User Profile Management. ¿ Active Directory and GPO management. ¿ Scripting abilities (Powershell, VBS, Batch) ¿ Excellent Windows troubleshooting skills, communication skills, and customer service skills.

¿ Self starter who is able to handle Tier 2/Tier 3 incidents and problems with minimal supervision. ¿ HP/DELL server hardware knowledge a Plus ¿ SCCM experience a Plus (Creating, Customizing, deploying software packages using SCCM) ¿ CAD Tools experience a Plus.
