Position Overview
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking an experienced Senior MuleSoft Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade API and integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API-led connectivity, integration architecture, MuleSoft development, and cloud-based integration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
Build scalable and reusable integration frameworks and API solutions.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and RAML specifications.
Ensure API performance, security, scalability, and reliability following industry best practices.
Create and execute MUnit test cases and support CI/CD deployments.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize MuleSoft integrations in production environments.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and integration designs.
Support DevOps and continuous integration initiatives using tools such as BitBucket and Bamboo.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
5+ years of experience in API design and integration development.
Strong expertise in REST, SOAP, RAML, OpenAPI (OAS), WSDL, XSD, XML, and JSON.
Experience with MuleSoft components including API Manager, Runtime Manager, and DataWeave.
Proficiency in Java and integration-related technologies.
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD) and/or MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect (MCPA).
Experience with MuleSoft 4.2+ (4.3 preferred).
Advanced knowledge of Anypoint Platform 7.5+.
Strong experience developing RAML-based APIs and integration solutions.
Experience writing and executing MUnit tests.
Experience integrating with external systems through APIs and web services.
Strong database experience with JDBC, SQL Server, and Oracle.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of Microservices Architecture, Integration Patterns, and DevOps practices.
