Home Health Assistant

MaineHealth CHANS Home Health & Hospice has provided expert home and hospice care to the mid coast Maine community since 1947. Our tradition of excellence extends from our mission and through the personal care delivered to each individual we are honored to service.

We provide care in Arrowsic, Bath, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Brunswick, Dresden, Durham, Freeport, Georgetown, Harpswell (including Bailey Island, Cundy's Harbor, Great Island, the Harpswell Neck, and Orr's Island), Litchfield, Lisbon, North Yarmouth, Phippsburg, Pownal, Richmond, Sabattus, Topsham, West Bath, Westport, Wiscasset, Woolwich and Yarmouth, Maine.

Summary: The Home Health Assistant role, under the direction of a licensed registered nurse, provides hands-on personal care to clients in their home, providing services which are needed to maintain the client's health or to facilitate treatment of the client's illness or injury.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Valid Driver's license required.
  • Experience: Prior home care experience preferred.
