Job description

Operating Room Nurse Internship Womens

Strong staffing Support when it matters most. Technology and tools that streamline patient monitoring and communication to help you work more efficiently. Robust supply chains to keep you fully equipped. Ongoing clinical education to improve your skills. As a Registered Nurse at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, you’ll have all the staffing support, technology and resources you need to deliver safe, high-quality care—so you can focus on what you do best.

Job Summary and Qualifications

“We took care of a gentleman who was traveling for business when he began feeling unwell and sought care at an HCA Healthcare freestanding ER, where he was accurately diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm. He was quickly transferred to our hospital for further treatment. During surgery, the team discovered more than 36 aneurysms along his aorta. While a total aortic replacement is an extensive and oftentimes high-risk surgery, our team has the advanced capability to do so. It was a very long case for him, but the patient pulled through and is now thriving.”

Gretchen, Operating Room RN at HCA Healthcare

As a Resident II Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR), you’ll be an integral part of life-changing surgeries as they unfold in real time. You may serve as a Circulating Nurse, managing the OR environment, documenting the procedure, and ensuring all RSIs (retained surgical instruments) are accounted for—or as a Scrub Nurse, assisting directly alongside the surgeon while maintaining a sterile field. You’ll collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and techs, acting as a sharp observer, precise documenter, and strong patient advocate during surgery. Though your interactions with patients may be brief, you will serve as their voice and advocate during one of the most critical moments of their lives. This role includes on-call duties during non-business hours, so it's important that this aligns with your availability. If you're detail-driven, thrive on precision, and deeply passionate about patient safety, the Operating Room may be the perfect fit for you.

  • Patient Care Delivery: As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will implement nursing care plans under the supervision of an experienced Registered Nurse in a high-quality, empathetic, and patient-centered manner
  • Documentation: Document observations, interactions and patient responses and report to your assigned RN, RN Preceptor, Clinical Nurse Coordinator or Charge Nurse
  • Patient Education: You will educate patients on their treatment plans, diagnoses, medications, possible side effects, follow-up measures and more
  • Clinical Excellence: You will engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience and patient outcomes, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc
What qualifications you will need:
  • At least 1 YEAR of experience working as an RN in any hospital area.
