The Junior Software Engineer will work closely with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and other partners to help modernize legacy oceanographic systems by transitioning them into a scalable, event-driven microservices architecture. Job Duties:
Develop, test, and maintain containerized microservices that process real-time sensor data.
Assist in building web-based user interfaces and dashboards for the new Command and Control (C2) suite.
Write and execute database queries, assisting with the migration of legacy system data to a unified PostgreSQL environment.
Follow standard Git workflows, ensuring all code commits are tied to documented Agile issues and epics.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot system bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
