Job description

Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center is expanding and seeking a residency-trained or board-certified veterinary neurologist to join our Neurology team. This role is ideal for a neurologist who thrives in a high-caseload, a collaborative environment, enjoys medical and surgical neurology, and values teaching and mentorship—both formally and informally—within a busy ER/specialty hospital.

Clinical Environment & Collaboration

You will join a deeply collaborative team with a strong referral base and a culture of open case discussion. Our neurologists work closely with other specialists, emergency clinicians, and primary care doctors.

This position offers significant surgical and procedural volume, with the autonomy to practice high-level medicine while being supported by experienced teams.

Teaching & Mentorship

Education is a core part of our identity. This role includes:

  • Teaching and mentoring rotating interns, specialty interns, and residents
  • Informal case-based teaching on the floor and during rounds
  • The opportunity to help shape the next generation of veterinarians through daily clinical interaction
About Pieper Memorial

As a state-of-the-art, VECCS Level 1 facility, Pieper Memorial includes multiple ultrasounds, wireless Fukuda Denshi telemetry, 64-slice CT, 1.5 T MRI, C-Arm with neurovascular platform, Maquet Servo-U ventilator with NAVA and volumetric capnography. As an added bonus, we enjoy an Antech reference laboratory in the building with an on-site clinical pathologist.

Our specialty departments include Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Avian/Exotics, Emergency & Critical Care, and Oncology. We have a seasoned team of primary and emergency veterinarians, and our doctors are supported by dedicated technicians, assistants, and department‑specific client liaisons.

At Pieper, we prioritize a doctor-led, medicine first approach and are proud to offer equity options to our veterinarians. We believe in an integrated veterinary system that brings together veterinarians and medical teams from every type of practice to support our community. Pieper Veterinary is committed to education and in addition to our rotating internships, specialty internships, and residencies partners with Middlesex Community College to provide clinical training for their AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.

Owned and operated by veterinarians since 1937, Pieper Veterinary includes ten primary care hospitals, one urgent care hospital, and long-standing specialty and emergency partnerships across the Northeast. These collaborations reflect a shared commitment to independent, veterinarian-led medicine and clinical excellence.

Pieper is part of COVE Animal Health, a veterinarian-led network of primary care, emergency, and specialty hospitals spanning five regions: Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Built on nearly 90 years of trusted care, COVE brings together established regional hospital systems under a shared mission: delivering exceptional, community-rooted veterinary medicine while preserving the local identity, autonomy, and clinical leadership of each partner practice.

Our outstanding benefit package includes:

  • Equity Options
  • A Safe Harbor 401(k) with up to a 4% match and immediate vesting
  • Signing and Relocation Bonus
  • Fully Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • DEA and State Licensing Fees
  • AVMA, CTVMA and VIN Membership Dues
