About the Company
Our client is a rapidly growing transportation infrastructure contractor delivering ITS, traffic signal, roadway, utility, and DOT projects throughout Florida. This role is designed to develop future Project Managers by providing exposure to every aspect of project delivery and ownership.
Position Overview
The Project Engineer works directly alongside Project Managers to support project execution, project controls, client deliverables, subcontractor coordination, and field operations. This position offers hands-on exposure to transportation and infrastructure projects while developing the technical and business skills required to advance into Project Management.
Responsibilities
• Support Project Managers throughout project lifecycle
• Assist with quantity tracking and material tracking
• Create and manage RFIs and RFMs
• Support change order preparation and management
• Perform quantity takeoffs and plan reviews
• Assist with project billing and invoicing
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors
• Track project documentation and deliverables
• Participate in periodic site visits
• Support project schedules and reporting
• Assist with procurement and material coordination
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree preferred (Civil Engineering ideal)
• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to learn project management and construction operations
• Positive attitude and strong initiative
Preferred Qualifications
• Civil Engineering degree
• Construction internship experience
• DOT project exposure
• Field engineering experience
• Project Coordinator experience
• Assistant Project Manager experience
Compensation
$84k - $95k. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
