As a Materials Manager at ASG, you will collaborate with senior materials management leaders to support the planning, coordination, and execution of inventory and purchasing operations. This role is responsible for forecasting material needs, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring the efficient distribution of supplies across the organization, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and quality within the medical device industry.Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including FDA (U.S.), MDR (Europe), and other global health authority standards.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 13485 and other applicable quality management system standards.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure all materials and devices meet safety and performance criteria throughout the supply chain.
Supplier Management & Qualification
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
  • Support supplier audits and performance evaluations to maintain compliance and reliability.
Risk Management & Product Traceability
  • Maintain systems that enable full product traceability from raw materials through final delivery.
  • Identify supply chain risks (e.g., shortages, regulatory changes) and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Support product recall readiness and execution in compliance with applicable regulations.
Inventory & Demand Planning
  • Balance inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess and waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Manage critical components and service parts inventory, ensuring availability for ongoing operations.
Logistics & Cold Chain Management
  • Coordinate transportation and distribution of materials, ensuring proper handling requirements are met.
  • Support international shipping processes including customs compliance and documentation.
  • Maintain validated cold chain processes for temperature-sensitive products to preserve integrity.
Product Lifecycle Management
  • Support supply chain activities throughout the product lifecycle, from development through end-of-life.
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to ensure supply readiness for new product launches.
  • Assist in managing inventory transitions during product phase-ins and phase-outs.
Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing
  • Promote responsible sourcing aligned with environmental and ethical standards.
  • Support initiatives to reduce environmental impact related to manufacturing, packaging, and distribution.
Cost Management & Supplier Negotiation
  • Assist in supplier negotiations to balance cost, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs across procurement, production, and logistics without compromising quality.
Technology Integration & Data Management
  • Utilize supply chain systems to monitor inventory, procurement, and distribution activities.
  • Support ERP systems that track critical data such as lot numbers and expiration dates.
  • Assist with implementation of technologies (e.g., RFID, IoT) to enhance visibility and traceability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with regulatory, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and legal teams to align supply chain operations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior team members and interns.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and team development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical, scientific, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or a related discipline.
