Job description

Job Description
The Mining Internship role provides a student with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment. This role will support HWI at the plant level. The Mining Internship provides hands-on experience in the implementation and support of Mines and Raw Materials programs and initiatives.
Job Duties:
  • Provide field support in daily mining operations and project activities
  • Support and perform sampling, GPS data collection, drilling support and analysis
  • Participate in min inspections, safety audits and environmental auditing.
  • Help prepare technical reports, geologic mapping and reclamation monitoring
  • Analyze production data and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in safety committee and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Mining Engineering, geology, Civil Engineering r a related field.
  • Must have completed sophomore year with a minimum of GPA of 3,0
  • Must maintain a minim cumulative GPA 3.0
  • Strong interest in mining operations and resource extraction
  • Basic understanding of mining methods and safety practices
  • Familiarity with mining software (e.g. AutoCAD, Surpac or similar a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Knowledge of mine planning and geological modeling
  • Experience with data analysis or technical reporting.
