Position

This is a highly collaborative role responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying internal AI-enabled software applications and tools that support organizational transformation. This role focuses on architecting, designing, and building scalable, production-ready AI native applications as part of business process re-engineering efforts. The position works closely with Process Excellence teams, End Users, SMEs, IT, and junior developers to rapidly build, validate, and deploy solutions that improve operational efficiency, enable data-driven decision-making, and support scalable growth.  Successful candidates will prioritize collaboration, speed, business value and customer impact, balancing concerns around security, scalability, and extensibility.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and implement AI-enabled applications and tools based on defined requirements - collaborating heavily with Process Excellence, SME, End User, and IT teams.
  • Lead rapid development cycles and guide junior developers and interns in building applications using AI-assisted coding tools.
  • Evaluate and implement AI development tools, frameworks, and workflows to improve speed and quality of development.  Manage development standards including version control, testing and deployment approaches, and documentation practices.
  • Define system architectures including data models, APIs, front-end/back-end structures, and AI/LLM integrations.  Serve as primary interface to IT for our process re-engineering and solutions-focused team.
  • Participate in and lead business process re-engineering efforts using systems engineering and lean practices, including kaizen, continuous improvement cycles, risk management, process mapping and cross-domain functional architecture design.
Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical field + 6 years experience minimum. Strong experience building full-stack applications, APIs, and AI-enabled solutions for enterprise business systems.

COMPUTER SKILLS

In addition to familiarity with Microsoft Office software programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, ability with the following computer skills:    Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern development frameworks.      Familiarity with rapid development using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot, similar tools).    Experience integrating AI/ML models into applications.      Strong debugging, testing, and code optimization skills.      Strong understanding of data models, system integration, and application workflows.     Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.      Familiarity with system integration across enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, data systems, etc.).     Knowledge of API security, authentication (OAuth, tokens), and data flows.      Knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).    Experience with version control systems (Git-based workflows).     Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.      Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).  Experience deploying and maintaining production applications.      Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and validation practices.       Knowledge of application security principles and best practices.      Understanding of data governance, risk, and compliance considerations.  Experience documenting systems and maintaining development standards
