What is the difference between Internship Racket vs Intern Fraud?
| Aspect | Internship Racket | Intern Fraud |
|---|---|---|
| Definition | Illegal schemes exploiting interns for unpaid labor or scams | Deceptive practices involving interns to commit fraud or theft |
| Work Environment | Unpaid or underpaid internships, often in various industries | Workplaces engaging in fraudulent activities using interns |
| Credentials Needed | Typically no formal credentials, but awareness of legal rights helps | Likely involves knowledge of legal and financial regulations |
| Industry Usage | Commonly reported in corporate, tech, and service sectors | Less common, but associated with scams or illegal enterprises |
While both involve unethical practices, an Internship Racket refers to schemes exploiting interns for unpaid labor, whereas Intern Fraud involves interns being used to commit or facilitate fraudulent activities. Understanding these differences helps interns and employers recognize and prevent such misconduct.
