Job description

Job Summary:
The Kinesiology and Sport Sciences Department (KSS) and Physical Activity and Wellness Laboratory (PAWL) at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is seeking an individual to fulfill the position of Lecturer/Lab Manager.
The Lecturer/Lab Manager will teach at least 2 class(6 hours), assist with laboratory sections for Exercise Science courses(6 hours), and be responsible for day-to-day operation of the lab including recruitment efforts(all KSS programs), physical fitness and body composition assessments, supervise undergraduate Exercise Science students who are enrolled in internship or volunteer practicum experiences in the PAWL, and direct community outreach efforts to help youth and adults enhance their physical fitness through exercise (LOPER Performance). As well as oversee policies and regulations related to all aspects of the PAWL.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Exercise Science or related field and two years of experience. Willingness to work closely with KSS and Exercise Science faculty, students and UNK programs to develop and maintain an active exercise science lab. Ability to interact and connect with community members and coordinate large scale programs with integrity and confidence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in exercise assessment and prescription or personal training experience. Certification as a National Strengthen & Conditioning Association Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist or American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Specialist/ Certified Exercise Physiologist. Experience with laboratory set up for Exercise Science courses. Willing to complete OSHA/ BSL certifications.
