Service & Billing Intern

Job Description

Purpose: The Service & Billing Intern will support the Commercial team by assisting with billing operations, invoice processing, and general administrative functions. This role will help ensure accuracy, timeliness, and organization within financial processes while providing exposure to core business operations. The intern will also complete a structured project focused on improving efficiency, reporting, or process documentation within the billing function.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assist with invoice generation, processing, and tracking to ensure accuracy and timely completion
  • Review billing data for discrepancies and support corrections as needed
  • Support account reconciliation and maintain organized financial records
  • Assist in responding to internal inquiries related to billing and invoice status
  • Help document billing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain spreadsheets, reports, and tracking tools for billing activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Service, Accounting) as needed
  • Support the office team with additional administrative tasks and special projects

Internship Project

  • Complete a defined project focused on enhancing billing operations
  • Streamline invoice workflows or improve tracking tools
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify efficiencies or automation opportunities
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Current college sophomore or above, or recent graduate in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of billing or invoicing preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
