APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE*** Job Summary The Nevada Department of Transportation is hiring for a Human Resources Analyst 1 located Carson City. The position requires statewide travel to schools, colleges, outreach events, and NDOT facilities.

The primary duty is to serve as NDOT's outreach, recruitment and placement coordinator for NDOT's Workforce Development Program which includes the Rotational Engineer, Public Service Intern, Educational Assistance/ Preferred Degree, Job-Related College, DOD SkillBridge Internship, Student Worker-Trades, and Kindergarten through 12th grade Programs. Responsibilities include developing recruitment strategies, preparing students and collaborating with high school and college guidance counselors to fill temporary Student Worker, Interns, and Rotational Engineers vacancies. Our ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the recruitment process, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to helping students, interns and Rotational Engineers achieve their NDOT career goals.

Human Resources Analysts perform professional Human Resources functions for the central Human Resources Department or perform comprehensive Human Resources functions for a state department, division, or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing, and payroll.

Essential Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years experience as a Human Resources Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Duties Incumbents plan and implement recruitment and examination activities. Incumbents review positions and recommend appropriate classification and compensation levels.

Incumbents make presentations before a variety of hearing bodies. Incumbents provide advice to department management, line departments, or employees on policy and rule interpretation. Incumbents investigate employee complaints and recommend alternative solutions.

Incumbents conduct research, prepare reports, and present findings. Incumbents perform related work as required. Under direction, Human Resource Analyst 1s perform entry level professional Human Resource work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in the State Human Resources Department or a State agency.

Work may involve overseeing student employment, payroll, recruitment and selection, policy development, classification research and analysis, training, affirmative action coordination, providing guidance and counseling to employees and management, and may serve as a Human Resource generalist for a section, small division, or geographic area of the state for an agency. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: principles, practices, methods of public Human Resource administration, of classification, pay, recruitment, examination, selection, performance standards and evaluation, and training. General knowledge of: the methods of research and analysis.

Skill in: written English sufficient to compose routine business correspondence and reports; analyzing Human Resource problems and recommending solutions; effectively interacting with all levels of employees and management.
