Job description

Join our Robotics Development and Packaging Innovation Experiences team as a Software Development Engineer and help shape the future of intelligent packaging solutions. You'll design and deploy large-scale systems that reduce waste, enable sustainability goals, and serve our global customer base while partnering with product leaders, ML scientists, and cross-functional teams.
As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you'll focus on building intelligent packaging deterministic workflows and large-scale platforms that power our packaging operations worldwide. Your day might include architecting end-to-end software systems, partnering with ML scientists to integrate machine learning capabilities, or working with fulfillment center teams to refine tools and applications they rely on daily. You'll participate in code reviews with peers, mentor junior engineers as they grow their skills, and contribute to discussions that shape our technical strategy. Beyond individual contributions, you'll help establish best practices that ensure quality across our infrastructure and production services, which form the backbone of our packaging engines and support our Climate Pledge and sustainability initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy intelligent packaging workflows and machine learning-powered platforms that serve our worldwide customer base
- Partner with product leaders, ML scientists, and cross-functional teams to influence packaging roadmap decisions and define technical strategy aligned with sustainability goals
- Build and maintain core infrastructure, production services, and tools that support packaging engines, test labs, fulfillment centers, and field operations
- Drive system architecture decisions and establish best practices that enable code quality, reliability, and scalability across our software systems
- Coach and support junior engineers in their technical growth and help them develop their skills in building large-scale distributed systems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
