Thin Line Counseling LLC Outpatient Therapist

Thin Line Counseling (TLC) is an outpatient clinic providing therapy services to individuals, couples, and families with a primary focus on the Responder/Veteran community (i.e. former and active law enforcement, firefighters/paramedics, military, etc.). We are credentialed with several insurance companies, including Tricare, Aetna, Cigna, Optum, VA Community Care Network, and we are currently contracted with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. We are currently hiring part-time/contractor position at our Brandon, Florida office.

General Expectations:

In the performance of their respective task and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:

 Ability to arrive/report to work on time and ready to work.

 Ability to abide by principles of EEO compliance and a workplace of dignity and respect.

 Ability to take guidance and direction from supervisors.

 Ability to collect and enter demographic, insurance, and other required information for registration.

 Provide individual, couples, and family therapy as deemed necessary through evidence-based practice approaches with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.

 Complete ongoing progress notes and other necessary documentation through an electronic health record.

 Provide crisis intervention services as needed.

 Make appropriate internal and external referrals.

 Complete behavioral health status exams.

 Conduct and complete Biopsychosocial evaluations.

 Develop treatment plans with clients.

 Position requires that the individual maintain all mental health credentials and licensure.

 Position requires that the individual maintain liability insurance

 Position requires that the individual maintains compliance with all TLC training requirements.

 Position may require other tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education/Licensure:

Master's degree in mental health field required. Fully licensed (i.e. LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) or

provisionally licensed (i.e. RMHCI, RCSWI, RMFTI) accepted.

Experience:

Previous work with the veteran/responder community preferred but not required. EMDR/ART trained or certified preferred. 

Knowledge and Skills:

 Position requires that the individual generally understands psychopathology as it relates to the DSM diagnostic manual.

 Position requires that the individual can provide mental health diagnoses using DSM criteria.

 Position requires that the individual can perform therapy with a variety of modalities to include evidence-based practice approaches.

 Position requires that the individual can provide treatment for co-occurring disorders or is willing to learn the required techniques and interventions to provide the therapy.

 Position requires that the individual possess a high quality of written and verbal capabilities.

 Position requires that the individual can work independently with minimum supervision.

 Position requires the individual to manage one's time efficiently.

 Position requires that written documentation through an electronic health record be completed in a timely manner.

 Position requires flexibility and the ability to prioritize various job functions.

 Position requires strong clinical documentation skills.

 Position requires understanding of, or willingness to learn, the culture of and mental health issues prevalent in the veteran/responder community.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting for 45 minutes to an hour per session.

Machines, Tool and Equipment Used:

Computer, telephone, fax, copier, email, electronic health record

Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision is available for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a relaxed format that allows for the personal growth of the therapist.

TLC’s target population is the first responder, veteran and active military community and their

families. Work will be performed in an office environment and via telehealth services. These

populations have a significant amount of trauma that sometimes can be challenging

to therapists. The ideal candidate will show the right amount of patience and empathy towards

the unique challenges our patients face.
