As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll work at the forefront of generative AI technology, building innovative content creation tools that operate at the S-team level. You'll architect and develop components for a revolutionary platform that records and enhances the learning experience of Amazon employees, leveraging advanced technologies including the Core Agentic AI framework. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with education scientists, data engineers, and learning experts while solving complex problems in the AI learning space.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software components for the talent development ecosystem platform, ensuring high-quality code throughout the full software development lifecycle
- Build and optimize AI-based learning content creation tools using generative AI technologies and the Core Agentic AI framework, working directly with S-team level initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, learning scientists, and education domain experts to deliver integrated solutions
- Lead technical problem-solving initiatives by bringing clarity to complex challenges and designing simple, elegant solutions for distributed systems in ambiguous environments
- Drive operational excellence by actively participating in code reviews, providing meaningful feedback to team members, and ensuring root cause analysis and permanent fixes for system issues
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
