Position Overview
Internship to gain exposure to organizational culture and practical experience through assigned tasks, projects, and activities.
Essential Functions
  1. Participate in the hiring and onboarding process and attend new employee orientation.
  2. Work with others to learn about the organization and the credit union industry.
  3. Assist with tasks set out by various team members that may include tasks, projects, and special assignments.
  4. Provide feedback as requested.
  5. Greet and interact with internal and external members and customers in a warm and friendly manner, demonstrate a sincere interest and willingness to help.
  6. Demonstrate leadership skills and uphold SELCO's mission statement, corporate values, service promises, and exceptional customer service standards.
  7. Adhere to federal and state regulations, Credit Union policies, confidentiality requirements, and other compliance obligations.
  8. Consistently achieve individual performance goals and contribute to branch and organizational objectives.
  9. Attend and actively participate in required meetings and trainings.
  10. Adapt to change to accomplish SELCO's goals and objectives.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

The position requires the following:
  1. Excellent customer service skills by using the GVAL-HI approach to providing service. Greet people, Value them. Ask how you can help. Listen. Help them. Invite them back.
  2. Solid written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.
  3. Effective computer and software skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Symitar, and departmental computer systems.
  4. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; and
  2. Must be bondable
Physical Demands
While performing the job duties, approximately 90% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and transport up to 5 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment and supplies.
Interaction and Work Environment
Reports To: Supervisor as Assigned
Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise, distractions, and frequent interruptions. Position may include travel to various locations.
