Serve as a Summer Legal Intern in the SGLA - SCOR Global Life Americas Law Department working with SGLA Attorneys to advise and support SGLA's business in North and South America and collaborate with our parent and affiliate companies globally. Under the supervision of SGLA Attorneys, engage with our business clients, understand their business needs and risks and proactively work with them to reach solutions in a cost-effective manner. Complete legal and compliance research and projects as requested.

  • Pursuing Juris Doctorate degree. Enrolled and in good standing in an accredited law school.

  • Must possess excellent research and writing skills.

SCOR operates with a hybrid working arrangement. SCOR employees work 3 days per week in an office with the flexibility to work 2 days per week remotely.

Pay Range for roles performed in NC: $22.00-$24.00 per hour. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. 

Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives.

  • With SGLA attorneys and compliance professionals work with business lines on specific projects

  • Participate in Law Department and business meetings.
  • Research, draft memoranda and prepare PowerPoint presentations related to legal research and related projects as requested
  • Update and maintain various legal data bases.

  • Attend ONE (Onboarding of New Employee) session.
  • Attend abbreviated NEO (New Employee Orientation) program.
  • Work with Manager and Intern Buddy to ensure that all expectations and goals are being met. Ask questions as needed.
  • Complete all projects in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all SCOR policies and procedures.
  • Complete Reinsurance Industry Overview training ("Reinsurance Basics" courses provided by LOMA). Training is offered online.
  • Make Final Presentation during Program Wrap-Up.
  • Provide feedback on the program and offer suggestions for improvement.
