Job description

Location: Orlando, FL Department: Marketing & Fan Experience Reports To: Manager of Marketing & Sponsorship Fulfillment Employment Type: Internship (Seasonal – September through May) Compensation: College credit (if applicable) 

Position Summary The Marketing & Brand Intern will support the Orlando Valkyries’ marketing strategy and brand-building efforts across multiple channels and campaigns. Working alongside the Manager of Marketing & Sponsorship Fulfillment, this intern will gain hands-on exposure to marketing planning, campaign execution, fan engagement initiatives, and cross-departmental collaboration within a professional sports environment. This role is ideal for a student passionate about sports marketing who wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing franchise. 
Key Responsibilities
 Campaign & Marketing Support 

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and in-venue channels. 
  • Support the development of marketing materials including email newsletters, promotional collateral, and digital ads. 
  • Help coordinate promotional giveaways, theme nights, and fan-focused activations. 
  • Research industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices to inform marketing recommendations. 
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of the weekly fan-facing email newsletter. 

Fan Engagement & Community Presence 

  • Support execution of fan engagement programs including loyalty initiatives and special promotions. 
  • Represent the Valkyries at community events, promotional appearances, and outreach activations. 
  • Help track and report on fan feedback, survey results, and engagement metrics. 


Administrative & Reporting 

  • Maintain organized records of marketing assets, vendor contacts, and campaign timelines. 
  • Assist in preparing post-campaign performance recaps and marketing summaries. 
  • Support coordination between the marketing, ticketing, partnerships, and communications departments. 
  • Perform additional marketing and administrative duties as assigned. 


Team Culture & Collaboration 

  • Contribute to a positive and energetic office environment. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support team-wide initiatives. 
  • Demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and a team-first attitude at all times. 


Qualifications
 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business, Communications, or a related field. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms, digital advertising, and social media channels. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Passion for sports, brand building, and fan experience. 


Education & Experience
 

  • Currently working toward a degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business, or a related field. 
  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar platforms is a plus. 
  • Prior experience in marketing, events, or a sports environment is preferred but not required.
