Job description

FX Studios is the premier Sports Performance and Fitness Center in the Baltimore area. Our internship program is an all-encompassing 10 week internship with a minimum of a 250 hour commitment. Ideal applicants are typically a rising junior in the exercise science field with some level of coaching experience. We do accept applicants who are not currently enrolled in academia, as long as they have a background in sports and wellness and are motivated to make training a career.
Applicants must display a positive attitude with a desire to learn in a fast paced high energy environment. The internship opportunity with FX Studios has been prepared for an intern to meet the following objectives. Interns have the opportunity to:
  • Develop and monitor strength, conditioning and flexibility programs for a diverse demographic, including athletes and clients, in both an individual and group training setting
  • Assist in fitness testing, computation of results, and in individual assessments
  • Teach proper lifting techniques and assist in spotting lifts
  • Anticipate potential risks of injury, take measures to remove them, and alert participants of them
  • Develop effective motivating procedures to assist trainees in achieving maximum potential in all areas of performance
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of computer skills on Microsoft Office
  • Work and communicate with coaches, trainers, physical therapists, and medical staff
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the facility and its equipment
  • Develop a knowledge of the personal training field and how to be successful
  • Working with the Wounded Warrior Project helping create workouts for our soldiers
  • Planning and running a charity event for the local community
