Position Summary:

The Associate Maintenance Technician Intern is responsible for participating in assigned scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment. This effort includes, but is not limited to, collaboration with other Maintenance Technicians and Sr Maintenance Technicians to learn how make sure the machines are safe and operating at peak condition. This individual works with the entire plant to ensure every machine is running and the shop floor is safe.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in diagnoses, repairs and tests malfunctioning equipment and machinery; Working to replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment

  • Provides daily emergency and performing preventative maintenance on any machine or system in the facility

  • Assists in performing routine inspections to ensure safe and dependable operation of all manufacturing and electrical equipment

  • Performs lockout / tag out procedures for safety

  • Complies with all safety norms and regulations

  • Maintains records of inventories and placing orders for spare parts and equipment

  • Tracks log repair and maintenance work

  • Monitors contractor performance and working closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications

  • Assists in the execution of all assigned maintenance area capital projects

  • Assists in providing preventive maintenance and repairing CNC machines, mill turn centers, metal cutting technology, modern machine tools, surface finishing machines as needed

  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment environment preferred

  • Direct, hands on experience with performing maintenance of various machinery preferred

  • Computer literacy is a must

  • Clean, organized, and possess the ability to multi-task

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Self-starter

  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
