Overview

Come grow with us by joining our team as a Transportation Specialist!  In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. The position is responsible for shipping and receiving of all vehicles, transporting vehicles to their assigned locations, and updating the DMS to reflect the current inventory location.  Additional responsibilities include janitorial, vehicle detailing, painting, and lot organization.  This position will follow all procedures and instructions as directed by management.  Demonstrates the ability to complete tasks on time and in a professional manner and work well with others.

Responsibilities

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Update Excede Unit inventory status and locations daily and in real time
  • Maintain daily vehicle location log:  Track vehicle by location and parking spot
  • Develop Shipping Row
  • Develop Receiving Row
  • Develop Short Hold Area Update Daily
  • Perform general duties as directed with minimal supervision
  • Develop and maintain the daily production area, allowing vehicles quick access to the service shop
  • Perform initial and final inspection of vehicle using Record 360 and complete task for release of vehicle
  • Confirm vehicle VIN number with BOL and make sure vehicle is being delivered to correct address and VIN matches BOL
  • Inspect all vehicles for damage including windshield and tires. Damage needs to be documented by the BOL and driver needs to be acknowledged
  • Communicate any damages or discrepancy to service writer, foreman and supervisor and request to add a line on Repair Order.  Determine if the bus will be returned to the factor for repair
  • After receiving the new bus in Record 360 send inspection sheet to management and service writers
  • Pull up vehicles when ready for shipping and make sure buses are cleaned and detailed
  • Responsible for all vehicle inventory, ensuring buses are accounted for using CodeREADr
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining vehicle keys and dealer plates
  • Maintain Demo and sales Vehicles, ensuring vehicles are clean and presentable to customers
  • Ensure all batteries are disconnected when parked
  • Ensure all vehicles are ran every 30 days, per Ford QVM guidelines
  • Ensure fire extinguishers are installed throughout parking lot and maintained properly
  • Document location of vehicle in the bus yard utilizing the parking diagram
  • Perform final inspection of vehicle and obtain signature for release of vehicle
  • Follow safety policies and work in a safe orderly manner
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and two years general office experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills
  • CDL preferred, or willing to obtain upon hire.  Clean DMV record
  • Willingness and ability to work as a team player
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and exhibits great initiative
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel)

Physical Requirements

  • Work will be performed both in an office environment as well as an outside area
  • May be required to do frequent kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing to perform multiple tasks of position.
  • Must have good manual dexterity
