Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics - Federal Emergency Medical Transport

Location: Nationwide (deployable to disaster and emergency locations)

Employment Type: Independent Contractor (per-deployment basis)

Hourly Rate: EMT-Basic: $25 - $32/hr | EMT-Paramedic: $35 - $48/hr

About the Role

CLFC Healthcare & Communications is building a nationwide roster of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics for federal emergency medical transport services. Personnel deploy to disaster zones, mass casualty events, and emergency situations to provide pre-hospital medical care and patient transport under FEMA coordination.

Deployments are mission-based with variable duration depending on the emergency. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced EMS professionals seeking federal disaster response experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and patient transport during federal disaster and emergency operations
  • Perform patient assessments, stabilization, and treatment per NREMT and state protocols
  • Operate ambulance and medical transport vehicles safely in emergency conditions
  • Maintain patient care documentation per federal and state EMS standards
  • Coordinate with incident command, hospital receiving facilities, and other emergency responders
  • Participate in staging, triage, and mass casualty incident management
  • Maintain equipment readiness and supply inventory

Required Qualifications

  • EMT-Basic: Current NREMT-B certification and active state EMT license
  • Paramedic: Current NREMT-P certification and active state paramedic license
  • Minimum 2 years of field EMS experience (911 system preferred)
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS and PALS for Paramedics)
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass federal background investigation
  • Ability to deploy on short notice (24-72 hours) to disaster locations nationwide
  • Physical fitness for austere operating conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior federal disaster response experience (FEMA, NDMS, DMAT, or military EMS)
  • ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, ICS-800 certifications
  • Tactical EMS or wilderness EMS certification
  • Hazardous materials awareness or operations certification
  • Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) or Flight Paramedic (FP-C) certification
  • Multi-state licensure through REPLICA or individual state licenses

Compensation

  • EMT-Basic: $25 - $32/hr
  • EMT-Paramedic: $35 - $48/hr
