Job description
We are seeking a Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support Council & Associates’ Pre-Litigation Department. An ideal candidate must be organized, motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced environment without compromising excellent customer service.
Compensation:$21 hourly
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Requesting medical records and itemized billing
- Setting up claims with insurance carriers (liability, uninsured motorist, umbrella, etc.)
- Setting up claims with health insurance companies (e.g., Medicare, CMS, Medicaid, ERISA, VA)
- Sending open records requests (police reports, 911 calls, CAD reports, etc.)
- Corresponding with medical providers
- Obtaining lien verifications and final closure letters from providers and insurance companies
- Assisting Case Managers with tasks as needed
- Maintaining excellent client service
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a legal position, personal injury experience a plus. Meticulous attention to detail and organization
- Working knowledge of Chartswap, CIOX, Healthport, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and similar software
