Position Summary Under the direction of the Tennis & Pickleball Head Pro, Recreation Manager, and City of St. George will teach tennis/pickleball to beginner, intermediate and advanced players of all ages through clinics and camps. As well as, monitors tennis and pickleball facilities, performs minor maintenance, sells and stocks concessions, registers players for tennis and pickleball, handles cash transactions, takes phone calls, updates website and registration software, tracks all clinics, assists with tournaments, referee tennis or pickleball, leagues and special events.

Teaches Tennis and Pickleball to beginner, intermediate and advanced players of all ages through clinics, camps, classes and special events. Promotes and markets the City of St
George tennis & pickleball program Keeps Head Pro abreast of any concerns related to staff, programs, drop-in play, equipment, tennis and pickleball community and all aspects of both facilities Work camps, tournaments, leagues, clinics, special events and runs errands General office and clerical duties at both pickleball and tennis. Organizes, cleans and prepares and maintains facilities and other work areas. Provide customer service in person, over the phone or by email; answering questions and/or referring customers to appropriate staff members Works at multiple tennis and pickleball facilities within the City of St.
George. Registers players for tennis and pickleball tournaments, clinics, lessons, etc. Follows money handling policies Must be able to resolve conflicts with the public in such a manner as to protect the rights of the City while encouraging the use of the facility by all interested citizens.
Officiates tennis or pickleball matches, during league, or tournaments. Study, understand, perform and enforce proper tennis or pickleball rules Sets up and takes down all equipment during shifts Writes injury reports for players that get injured during the course of the game Writes ejection / sportsmanship reports for players, or spectators that are in violation of our sportsmanship / zero tolerance policy. Performs other related duties as required.
Typical Physical/Mental Demands/Working Conditions Conditions and temperatures may vary depending on the assignment. Requires the use of vision and/or hearing to identify and evaluate emergencies. Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies.
Requires moderately heavy physical activity exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently. Mental demands of intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior. Note: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and other schedules to help prepare for recreation offerings.
This is a part-time position with variable hours averaging less than 28 hours per week over a period of twelve months. Qualifications Education: None required. Experience: Minimum of 6 months tennis or pickleball playing experience Licenses and/or Certifications: None CPR, First Aid, AED certification required.
Must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained throughout employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to: Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Be a good self-starter. Instruct clinics at multiple tennis and pickleball facilities within the City of St. George.
Instruct junior and adults at beginner level. Work the schedule provided by the Head Tennis and Pickleball pro Be a team player and help others on staff Bring issues or concerns regarding players or parents to the Head Pro Keep busy during slow times Communicate effectively with players, parents and spectators Handle tense situations by communicating with players, parents and spectators Skills: Highly motivated Dependable Customer service oriented Computer literate
