Position:Graduate Assistant - Women's Soccer
Department:Athletics
Reports to:Head Coach - Women's Soccer
Classification:Part-Time, Non-Benefit Eligible, 2-year maximum duration
Location: Mesa
Rate: Stipend, up to 7200.00 based on the start date of assigned period
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the baseball program with the recruitment and retention of student-athletes while
working to ensure the best student experience possible for the members of the Benedictine University Women's Soccer
Program.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist the program with the identification and successful recruitment of qualified student athletes to help place the program in
a position of competitive leadership in the GSAC (Great Southwest Athletic Conference).
2. Responsible for coaching and mentoring student-athletes as well as assisting with film breakdown, developing and implementing
scouting reports, game and practice plans, and coaching in all traditional and non-traditional segments that will place the
program in a position of competitive leadership in the GSAC (Great Southwest Athletic Conference).
3. Responsible for assisting the head coach, program, and university personnel with the retention of student athletes. This includes
social and academic support, meeting regularly with the members of your assigned position group to monitor their academic progress
to ensure players are investing the time and effort required to be successful in the classroom.
4. Provide instruction in technique and safety procedures in adherence with NAIA regulations and Sports Performance
expectations in the declared playing and practice seasons.
5. Provide support to Benedictine Mesa Campus Athletic Department and Physical Education Center.
Other Functions:
1. Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community.
2. Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
3. Maintain a positive student athlete assessment for program from student athletes.
4. Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.
5. Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
6. Serve on University, conference and national committees as needed.
7. Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
