Job description
Regina High School seeking assistant coaches for the annual Powderpuff football season at Regina High School.
The season begins the last week of July and ends after the Powderpuff game on a Saturday morning in mid-September. Coaching staff reports directly to the senior class moderators. Coach is responsible for all senior class members participating in Regina Powderpuff. The coach will be required to follow the procedures of Regina Powderpuff, as well as those of Regina High School.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assists in planning and implementing team activities, practices, player placements, and game plans
- Teaches student-athletes safe and fundamental techniques of the sport throughout the season
- Maintains sufficient communication with athletes, parents, assistant coaches, moderators, and Regina Administration
- Works in collaboration and cooperation with the moderators recommending the purchase of equipment and supplies
- Communicates Powderpuff rules, especially those involving safety of players, to student-athletes, parents, and moderators
- Oversees or helps oversee maintenance, safety of and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and the practice facility
- Promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship throughout the program
- Performs other related duties as required
- Coaching experience preferred but not required
- Must have understanding of technical aspect of football
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must complete Protecting God’s Children through the Archdiocese of Detroit, if not completed already
- Must submit to new background check
- Must have valid CPR certificate or obtain one
