Job Description
Transloaders are responsible for supporting daily rail and material handling operations in an active industrial environment. This role involves working around railcars, locomotives, loading equipment, and customer materials while safely performing transloading and rail support activities.

Employees work closely with operations teams and site leadership to ensure railcars are safely moved, secured, loaded, unloaded, and inspected according to company procedures and customer requirements. Daily responsibilities may include railcar handling, switching support, equipment operation, communication with crews, and maintaining operational efficiency throughout the facility.

This is a physically active outdoor role requiring strong safety awareness, teamwork, and reliability.

Railserve provides training for motivated individuals looking to build long-term careers in rail and industrial operations.

Schedule
8-hour shifts
5 days per week
Rotating schedules including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience

Duties
Support daily transloading and rail operations activities
Safely move and secure railcars within the facility
Operate hand and ground throw switches, derails, and gates
Control equipment movement using radio communication, hand signals, and lanterns
Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment
Handle air hoses, wheel chocks, and railcar connections
Observe tracks and surrounding areas for safety hazards or obstructions
Assist with loading, unloading, and material handling activities
Support locomotive and switching operations as directed
Assist in training new employees as needed
Complete operational reports and documentation as required
Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
Follow company operating procedures and safety requirements
Perform additional operational duties as assigned

Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Reliable transportation required
Strong attendance and dependability required
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to walk on uneven terrain and climb on rail equipment
Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy equipment and materials
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to assess multiple tasks and work safely in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work rotating schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Military experience is a plus
